About the site

The Rockhurst University Occupational Therapy Professional Portfolio is an electronic environment used to facilitate and demonstrate student transformation in ways consistent with our Jesuit identity.

Each professional portfolio is organized around the three mission-based elements of the Rockhurst student experience: learning, leadership, and service.

• In the learning portion of their portfolio, students integrate and synthesize what they learn in multiple courses….in and out of the classroom…on and off campus.

• Leadership activities and reflections encourage students to engage in life-long leadership practices: model the way, inspire a shared vision, challenge the process, enable others to act, and encourage the heart.

• Service elements of the portfolio capture student reflections on service and service learning and facilitate a connection between these experiences, course concepts, and broader issues of justice.

Working within the Professional Portfolio environment places a student at the center of their learning. Reflection leads to increased self-knowledge, which, in turn, helps each student become a more active, focused, and committed learner.
